Hello! Im looking for someone to join my team as a support worker with permanent weekly shifts and casual weekend/school holiday shifts available. I am a key worker/therapy assistant with a background in positive behaviour support for a beautiful 9 year old boy who lives in Dingley. The little boy has Norries Disease which is a genetic condition that has resulted in him being blind since birth, he is also level 3 autistic and has a moderate intellectual disabilty. I am looking for someone for school pick up at 3pm in Glenwaverly and to being him home and assist him with has after school and nignt routine as well as helping him to build his independence and get some exercise finishing at 7.30pm. It would be a bonus if the person could also work casual Saturdays and regular extra hours over the school holidays (he is supported 8am-7.30pm 5 days a week over the school holidays). After school session duties will involve teaching him to complete his evening routine with increased independence, working on a set of physio exercises with him, teaching him emotional regulation skills and helping him to express his emotions, modelling language and helping

him learn to use an alternative communication device as well as very basic food prep and cleaning up after his meal times. Weekend and school holiday shifts are more focussed on outings to the pool,beach, parks and playcentres. I provide full training and ongoing support and you will be working under my abn and insurance so I do tax and super as well. Starting rate is $35 on weekdays, $45 on saturdays, $55 on sundays but will increase as per the schads award after training is completed, higher rate for anyone with relevant experience working with kids with disabilities. No experience with disability is necessary though, you just need to have a good rapport with kids and caring nature and willingness to learn.
