We are offering a role that that involves wraparound care (Mon- Fri, mainly school pickup and activities in the afternoon) and Sat mornings approx 9:30am-1:30pm. We expect the chosen candidate to work approx 8-12 h/week.
Our daughter Tessa is 6yo and starting Year 1. She is extremely energetic, loves dancing, singing, swimming, skateboarding and pretending to be an adult. Our nanny needs to be a bit sporty to keep up with her (eg excursions to the zoo, swimming pool, roller blading, ice skating etc). Our son Harry is 7yo and on the Autism spectrum. He is funny, imaginative and attends mainstream school (where he is very cooperative and well-liked) but can be highly inflexible and controlling at home. He likes video games, Harry Potter and haunted / scary themes.
We are seeking a reliable nanny who brings high energy, creativity and patience. A drivers licence and car is required. We LOVE students in early / primary education or allied health!
We do not expect you to care for both children alone for extended periods and will provide appropriate training and support. Due to Harry's tendency to control Tessa, our aim in having a babysitter is to separate the kids on different excursions or supervise specific activities. We need someone who understands that sometimes we agree to unreasonable to demands from Harry at home because he has put in a huge effort to fit in at school. Although we can get extremely frustrated, there is no place for old-fashioned discipline in our house (we try to use a collaborative approach).
