Meet Sophie: A nanny and babysitter in Fitzroy, VIC

Hi! I’m Sophie, a 28-year-old from the UK who has been living in Melbourne for the past 2.5 years. I’m based in Fitzroy and currently self-employed, running my own vintage clothing business. I’m looking for some extra work during the week and would love the opportunity to help out with a family on a regular basis.

I have plenty of babysitting experience, having looked after younger cousins and family friends’ children in the UK, including casually babysitting for a neighbour’s 5-year-old for around two years. Since moving to Melbourne, I’ve also regularly looked after a 1-year-old for just under a year for a previous boss.

I absolutely love spending time with children and enjoy getting involved in their interests, whether that’s reading, drawing, playing games, listening to music, getting outdoors or coming up with fun creative activities. I’m also very happy to help with homework and schoolwork and understand the importance of being both responsible and fun!

I have my own car and a full Australian driver’s licence, so I’m happy to help with school pickups, activities and getting children where they need to be. I’m reliable, patient and flexible, and would be very happy to help a family in whatever way I can.

If a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required, I’m more than happy to obtain one.
