Meet Sarah: A babysitter in Sydney, NSW

With my background in working in a range of healthcare settings including a paediatric ward, children's residential homes and with children, young people and their families within their own home. My passion is supporting and empowering children and young people and I believe I would be a great fit within a nanny/babysitting role.

I am a bubbly, outgoing person and can’t wait for this next adventure in my life living in Australia. I am very motivated inside and outside of my work and I have been very driven in each career path I have been on to date.

I have great experience from home working with children, young people and their families as a social work assistant. Previous to this I worked on a paediatric ward in my local hospital for three years caring for new born babies to 16 years.

I have a huge interest in Gaelic football which is hugely popular in Ireland. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and going to the gym regularly. I am a big outdoors person and always up for trying new things. I am a huge animal lover and I have two dogs at home which I spend time taking on long walks at the beach or local parks. I helped my dad on the family farm caring for the animals.

Growing up I spent a lot of time babysitting younger cousins on both my dad and mum’s side of the family. I worked on a paediatric ward for three years in a local hospital which I gained numerous skills from. I went onto study paediatric nursing and after a year of studying realised this was not the career path I wanted anymore. I began a new career as a social work assistant in my local community supporting children, young people and their families. I really enjoy my job and I hope to return to complete my social work degree in the future.
