As someone passionate about caring for children and improving their developmental skills, I am delighted to submit my application. I have held many positions in early childhood education and care as well workplace practical experience. I have held workplace experiences in childcare centres, occasional childcare centres, family day care and vacation care centres. With the workplace experiences I had to develop many educational activities and create learning stories and abide with the Early Years Learning Framework. During my Diploma studies I had to take on the role as a room leader and develop a curriculum for the baby room. In my first paid position as a family day care educator I had to assist an educator with her service. In my second position I worked in a vacation care program, I attended excursions and provided supervision on these excursions. I had worked in an early childhood education and care services where I helped with the daily routines. This consisted of cleaning the centres, feeding the children, changing their nappies, putting them to sleep, providing supervision outside and assisting with crafts and activities. I have been in a creche at a church where I provided supervision and provided religious activities. The two most important roles I have filled was as a live in Au Pair. I took on the role as a sole charge carer 40 hours a week. I lived with the family and child I took care of. The child was four months old my main roles were cleaning, cooking, providing educational activities and care. The second important role was relief educator where I ran a family day care services for three months on my own. I ensured the environment was clean, that I cared for the children and provided education and activities. I believe all my experience will be a great fit with this role.
