Hi families!
My name is Tahlia; I am 27 and reside in Richmond.
A bit about me - I love being a nanny. I spend a lot of my time in nature, I enjoying anything creative, especially writing and am an absolute nerd when it comes to architecture and interior design. I am an honest, happy, caring and optimistic person.
I am happiest when I spend time with children; I adore children's curiosity, innocence, and imagination.
Working as a nanny, I am privileged to be a good role model and positively impact a child's life. There is nothing sweeter than a child's laugh or when they come to you so proud to show you something they have created or accomplished.
I am nurturing and fully present while interacting with kids, validating their feelings, and providing affection and comfort when sought.
I am fun! I like to keep children away from the TV and get them outside to play and explore, and I'm always coming up with games to entertain and broaden their imaginations.
I am creative; I am in the process of writing multiple children's books. I spend quality time with the children while we draw, colour, write or paint together.
I love serving others; I was taught the importance of service from a young age, helping people genuinely makes me happy - this is why I love the role of a nanny.
I have worked as a nanny, casual babysitter, and housekeeper.
I have looked after children of all ages, from 2 months to 12 years old. I have worked with children of all genders and looked after children with severe anxiety and ADHD.
I spent five months caring for a newborn baby boy and stayed overnight for most of the week.
I did all of the late-night bottle feeds and diaper changes while settling him back to sleep; I also
attended the pediatrician appointments.
Additionally, I was the housekeeper; I ensured the home was clean and organised, creating a safe environment for the baby. He is now nearly three, and I still occasionally babysit him.
Furthermore, I have looked after twins from 2-3 years old.
I looked after a 6-year-old girl, and my role was to get her out of bed and off to school, as the mum would leave as soon as I arrived.
I looked after two girls (10 and 12 years old); my role was to pick them up from school, take them to their afterschool activities, and help them with their homework while also doing some light housework, helping as much as I could as the girl's dad is a single parent.
I casually babysit for two other families; one has three cheeky boys (2/ 4/ 7), while the other has two daughters (2/5).
I have been looking after these girls since they were born.
I am also the eldest of five girls; my youngest sister is 15 years younger than me.
I studied Interior Design and Property Development; I worked in the corporate world for five years, but I have decided to work as a nanny and focus on publishing my children's books.
Please feel free to message me if you have any questions,
Warm regards,
Tahlia,
