Meet Kathryn: A nanny and babysitter in Forrestdale, WA

Highly experienced, playful nerd!  A career nanny since 2012, I have been blessed with working for over 30 families long-term, in both part-time and full-time positions. Experienced with care for up to 4 siblings (primarily aged 5 months – 14 year olds). Flexible with home and childcare duties to support a family’s every day. My Early Childhood practice is a meeting of minds to support joyful learning: deep exploration and interaction with a ‘safe enough’ world, through engaging the whole body system. Learning through play, I tap into each person's inspiration, initiative and resilience. In establishing trust/safety, I use the technique of 'sportscasting' to gently expand children's perspectives, trigger their own problem-solving skills and share pride in their unique input. The beauty of this warm leadership approach is that it fosters self-discipline and creates opportunities throughout the best and worst of times. Often, children will play with their own ability to establish safety and 'presence' in the world. A typical day is so full of imagination, negotiation, problem-solving, listening, busily engaged silence, physical activity, laughter and good old-fashioned fun. Further credentials include Diploma of Children's Services (2012), glowing references, various well-loved resources, Working With Children Check (WWC), Police Clearance, ABN and accountant, First Aid for Child Care Settings, Youth Mental Health First Aid, RAC Defensive Driving certificate, KidSafe installation checked car seats, Business Motor and Public Liability insurances, FoodSafe Handling, up to date immunisations, ongoing professional development and a range of communication processes to ensure the best possible service.
