Looking for: Part-time, Casual Babysitting
I'm 43 years of age and I love kids! I have always found communicating and relating to all sorts of kids, comes very naturally to me. I am happy to do babysitting and/or nannying jobs. I consider myself to be a well-balanced person, emotionally, mentally and physically, which I believe sets a positive/necessary role model for growing and developing children and encourages a positive and healthy rapour/relationship between the adult and child. I have had 14 years on and off experience caring for children. From late 1994, I began nannying for a 2-year-old girl, Gemma and in 1996 when her baby brother, Jack, was born, I began babysitting them both for the next 8 and a half years. My Duties included: Changing/washing nappies. Bottle preparing and feeding. Supervising and participating in play/learning exercises. Ensuring that children had proper rest/quiet time periods. Cooking, bathing and showering of children. Taking children to and from kindergarten and school. Taking children out on excursions and participating in creative and physical activities. Ensuring completion of assigned homework and assisting with set text reading for school. Making sure child was in bed by curfew set by parents. Ensuring completion and attending to chores/duties set by parents. Cooking & preparing healthy/nutritious meals for children. Basic home duties, eg; washing dishes, sweeping, laundry. Assisting and guidance with Homework. Providing ideas and suggestions to children about activities and exercises to participate in, encouraging their interests and natural strengths. Ensuring each child was in bed by its set curfew. Intervening when conflicts between siblings became verbally or were at risk of becoming physically abusive, implementing conflict resolution skills and applying them to the situation and the siblings involved. I find working with children a really enjoyable experience and being able to help children to explore their interests, develop their talents and independence & build self-esteem, is extremely rewarding. Every job I take on, I take seriously and believe that every child I care for receives 100% dedication, commitment, attention & care. Ideally I am looking for casual evening and some weekend work, as my last semester at school will take up a large chunk of my week.
