Hi there! I am currently 22 years old, living independently in thornbury and have just graduated from RMIT (in 2023) studying a bachelor of criminology and psychology. I am currently looking for casual babysitting opportunities before I start looking for roles in my future career (in 2025/2026). I have previously looked after a family with 3 kids (aged 8-13) in 2022, and currently nannying for a family with 2 kids aged 10 & 11. I have also had many casual babysitting opportunities looking after toddlers and tweens. I have limited experience working with children under the age of 1. I can provide references for these experiences :) I am after work that is rewarding, and allows me to form greater connections to those that I am helping. My aspiration is to work in a counselling or case management setting that works with families and youth/children in the system. I have previously worked in a psychologist’s office where I assisted children with additional needs in their activities, and sat into occupational therapy sessions. Assisting and guidance with Homework. Providing ideas and suggestions to children about activities and exercises to participate in, encouraging their interests and natural strengths. Ensuring each child was in bed by its set curfew. Intervening when conflicts between siblings became verbally or were at risk of becoming physically abusive, implementing conflict resolution skills and applying them to the situation and the siblings involved. I find working with children a really enjoyable experience and being able to help children to explore their interests, develop their talents and independence & build self-esteem, is extremely rewarding. Every job I take on, I take seriously and believe that every child I care for receives 100% dedication,commitment, attention & care.
