I have been a full time nanny for the past 5 years, as well as doing a lot of baby sitting on top of this. I have extensive experience with under 2's, but also a lot of experience with all ages through to teenagers.
I have recently returned from 6 months in South America and NZ and would like to start a new position in Melbourne.
My most recent job was with a one year old girl in Melbourne which ended after a year when the family relocated to Brisbane. I accompanied them there for the first 6 weeks to ease the transition for their daughter.
Prior to that I spent 3 years with a family of 3 boys, including twins who were born during my time there.
I studied primary school teaching for two years which I thoroughly enjoyed and which taught me a lot about how children learn and gave me many opportunities to interact with 5-10 year olds.
I have also done relief work in early childhood centres and spent a year as a live in 'big sister' to 12-14 year old girls in a boarding school setting.
I have a full, clean drivers license, a working with children check and an up to date first aid certificate, including anaphylaxis training. I have cared for children with life threatening allergies in the past and am confident in managing this.

Other Skills: What I lack in artistic ability, I make up for in enthusiasm! I believe in messy play for children and aim to provide age appropriate opportunities for this as much as possible. I am confident and capable in the kitchen with preparing meals and snacks, plus healthy nutritious baby food and baking. I like to involve the children in cooking/baking as much as is possible and safe.

Languages: I speak fluent Spanish and moderate Portuguese and I am happy to use these language skills throughout the course of my day.
