Hi! I am currently at University completing a Bachelor of Primary Education. I believe you can learn so much from children in their early years...they have very fascinating ideas and ways of doing things. I understand that looking after children incorporates three things. Firstly, passion. You need to be passionate in giving the child the best care. Secondly, integrity. Providing parents with the essentials and looking after their child by following specific rules and values of the family. Thirdly, nurture. You need to show that you care.
I have worked in a child care centre as a permanent casual child care worker, working with children from ages as low as 5 months to 5 years of age. I have worked in this type of environment for the past 2 and a half years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have even been awarded casuals of the month certificates of acknowledgement.
I have also worked with children in crèche environments, coaching environments, practicum placements and tutoring environments.

Through your site, I found a wonderful warm caring and intelligent young woman to look after my 5 year old daughter, who has a developmental delay. Our carer was perfect - studying teaching nearby and with a focus on special needs. Thank you. She is now a regular visitor to our house.Simone (Curtin, ACT) Read More
