Hi! I am currently at University completing a bachelor of primary education. I believe you can learn so much from children in their early years...they have very fascinating ideas and ways of doing things. I understand that looking after children incorporates three things. Firstly, passion. You need to be passionate in giving the child the best care. Secondly, integrity. Providing parents with the essentials and looking after their child by following specific rules and values of the family. Thirdly, nurture. You need to show that you care.
I have/am currently working in a child care centre at the moment as a permanent casual child care worker, working with children from ages as low as 5 months to 5 years of age. I have been working in this environment for the past 6 months and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have even been awarded a casual of the month certificate of acknowledgement.
I have also worked with children in crèche environments, coaching environments, practicum placements and tutoring environments.
