Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I began babysitting as a teenager and have cared for children from 6 months to 7 years of age. I completed Certificate 3 in Children’s Services in 2009 and my training included first aid and extensive work experience at a local Child Care centre. During work experience I undertook tasks ranging from assisting children with activities and implementing planned play experiences, to preparing food and providing a nurturing and safe environment. I spent the latter half of 2010 caring for two young children- a 4 & 7 year old- in their home and my responsibilities included entertaining and playing with the children, general tidying and laundry, homework help and meal preparation, and bathing/bedtime routines. I found this to be very rewarding and took great enjoyment in interacting with the children and contributing to their development. I have a high level of personal motivation and sense of responsibility, and understand reliability is paramount where children are concerned. I am currently close to the end of the theory part of a cert 3 in childrens services. Although I also need to complete my practical placement, I am currently seeking P/T employment as a NANNY. I am 42, married (for 23 years) and a mum of 3 independent adult sons (1 with Asperger's), a grandmother of a 2 year old girl and step granny to 3 others. I am also a Naturopath/ Herbalist with 10+ years of clinical experience and owned/ worked in fruit and veg/ organic stores with my husband. Hence, I am passionate about nutrition, with lots of knowledge and experience and dont mind preparing your meals. I have lots of experience working with parents and children (especially love to work with babies)and keen on the holistic development of children, so they are able to reach their full potential in all aspects of life. I am a trustworthy, organised and caring person who loves being around kids and in a family environment. I am currently working in an Autism Centre for children aged 0 to 5, providing early intervention and support for autistic children. I have recently (March-September 2011) been in Canada working at YMCA Summer camp providing 24/7 care and engaging activities for children aged 6-16. I am a confident person willing to give anything a go and learn something new. I believe I would be a great nanny for a caring family hosehold, in which I can provide supervision, fun and healthy opportunities for children.
