I have recently migrated to Perth from the UK with my partner; currently studying at Edith Cowan University in order to fulfill my career dreams of becoming an early year’s primary school teacher. There are several reasons that have contributed to my decision to pursue a career in teaching. Firstly, I have a great amount of love and passion for children, working with children will make sure that no one day is ever the same; children are very unpredictable, have great imagination, are highly curious and are forever asking questions.
I am especially enthusiastic about early childhood education as I believe it lays down the foundations for children, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and understanding to help them become informed and active citizens. I believe it is important to work with and build on children’s natural curiosity and the enthusiasm they have to learn about the world around them and their place within the world; in doing so I would hope the children I teach gain an appreciation and respect for the world and others around them.
In my spare time I enjoy socialising with friends, shopping and reading various types of books. I also go to the gym on a regular basis and attend aerobics, boxercise, and dance classes in order to keep fit.
