I am a stay at home Mum and full time student via online distance learning studying counselling and psychology. I have a two year old boy who I love to bits and I am looking for casual/ part time babysitting work for extra money for my studies. And getting paid to play and interact with children watching them develop and see and discover new things is just amazing... great job! I have babysitting and corporate references, as well as police check, WWCC, first aid knowledge/ awareness (not qualified), I can cook perfectly healthy well balanced meals and happy to do some cleaning here and there. I am available to babysit both day and night, however I prefer to be with my family at home of a night time but I do get calls every now and then for the odd evening/ overnight babysitting job and if I am available, I am happy to do that. Please note that if my services are required during the day on Monday or Tuesday, I will have my 2 year old son with me too. He's a barrel of laughs, like any cheeky monkey really :) He interacts well with other children and enjoys socialising.

Other Skills: I've heard stories of babysitters sitting kids down in front of the TV all day or night merely watching them ... that's far from what I do. I have studied alot about child psychology and development and I am aware of the needs of children through different stages of development and I plan my activities accordingly. My son is very creative and we spend alot of time making up silly dance moves, painting (theres about 100 of his paintings pinned up all over my house), drawing, playing with blocks, numbers and letters, dancing to The Wiggles, chasing each other through the house playing peek-a-boo all those sorts of things. But that's what stage my two-year old is at. If your child is 5 then we will play at playgrounds, some simple games that match their motor skills, allowing them to express their feelings and emotions, ensuring there's plenty of positivity and reassurance around them during their emotional transit to "a big kid", allowing their independance and control to dictate where we go with certain activities, tell creative stories that let their imaginations run wild and sing number songs to learn counting. I will adapt my behaviour, attitude, responses, activities and anything else that I have to in order to bring the best out of your child in their stage of development.
