After being out of uni for a while I am going back to RMIT to do an MBA and will not have time for a full time job, so a part time babysitting/nanny job would be perfect for me. I have extensive experience with children; I was a live-in nanny in the USA in 2001, and throughout my uni years I worked as both a live-in nanny and part time babysitter. The kids' ages ranged from 6 months to 14 years, and I found all experiences challenging at times, but extremely rewarding. I am a qualified English tutor and am very pro-homework and pro-learning (though I think social-learning is equally important as academic!). I have my own English tutoring business, and am also able to provide these services if needed (though I generally charge more for regular tuition). I also have a business degree so maths and other homework subjects will be no problem. The last family I worked for had many, many after school activities to attend, so that will be fine. I love to cook and am very pro-healthy meals so preparing meals is no problem - and no issue with cleaning either. Finally, while I believe it's important to be strict, there is nothing more important than a mutual relationship that allows a child to have fun and just be a kid. I have great references, and also a First Aid Certificate (used to be a Surf Lifesaver).

UPDATE: I have recently finished all course components of my MBA and am just awaiting my final exams in June-July, so am now available much more during the week. I will be applying for a graduate position at the end of the year and would love to have this final opportunity of spending some time looking after children before I head into the corporate world! Last year while living in Hobart, I became a part-time nanny with a local family. I've thoroughly enjoyed this and hope to continue nanny work when I return to Melbourne to live in March 2012.

I am also a part-time visual artist and have had experience parenting my own child. In 2008 I worked in a school outside hours/holiday program.

I appreciate the opportunity to assist and witness the development of babies and children through their different stages, finding this fascinating and beautiful. From the age of 12, I was babysitting my cousins and then had my first part time job at 14 as a gymnastics coach. Whilst studying Primary Teachig at University, I became the co-ordinator for my local councils' vacation care program. I also continued with various babysitting jobs and did tutoring aswell.

I have worked as a primary teacher for 8yrs and have experience teaching children K-6.

Through my other roles I have worked with children as young as 6months up to 16yrs. I also have a vast amount of experience with special needs children having been the supervisor for the special needs vacation care program for 3yrs, coaching gymnastics to a group of autistic children and various other special needs children I have catered for in my classroom as a primary educator.

In 2012 I am embarking on an exciting move interstate from my hometown of Sydney to Melbourne as a result of my partner's job transfer. I have decided on a new endeavour with children and that is to involve myself in their lives through a nannying avenue. Obviously, I want to help you champion mums & dads out too......

I'm sure my fun, friendly, vibrant & energetic personality will relate to your little darling/s as if I was one of them..... And, you can rest assured, knowing that you have a professional educator with mountains of experience, looking after the safety, well-being & childhood development of your precious little "treasures".

I have my own car, am in the process of obtaining a police check and would be more than happy to re-sit my first aid course if required. I don't mind the occasional bit of housework and am extremely flexible with my hours as I am fortunate enough to have no other commitments which would stand in the way.
