I am a registered carer with the Family Assistance Office. I have worked within the childcare and nanny industry for 5 years and feel I understand the needs, concerns and anxieties parents face when considering placing their child in someone else’s care. I believe it is very important to build a trusting relationship with both the parents and children by being consistent and respecting the parent’s wishes whilst proving a safe, secure and warm environment that allows a child to develop their individual needs. I understand that there is no "normal" nannying job. Every family is different. I adapt quickly to each position. There are so many different methods on how to raise children I am constantly learning from the families! I am a reliable, flexible and honest person and consider my nanny role as a profession very rewarding, as I cater to each child’s individual development and attend to their safety needs, as well as daily needs. I love working with children and adore watching children explore and learn through their everyday play experiences. I am not the kind of nanny that sits indoors, I love to be active and outdoors when the weather permits. I consider myself somewhat creative, I do not mind getting a little bit messy as long as the child is enjoying themselves. I enjoy providing a variety of activities, such as painting, crafts and cooking activities and use these to teach children language, social, hand-eye coordination, balance, emotional and cognitive skills. I have worked with children that have disabilities, mothers with post natal depression and babies as young as 2 weeks.

I am an energetic, creative and highly motivated individual who is currently looking for work within the nanny industry. I am very interested in continuing being a nanny in Melbourne. I have been involved in childcare for the past 18 months since I have finished my Bachelor of Design at Massey University in New Zealand. I have enjoyed every minute of the challenging experience so far and want to continue creating new bonds and friendships with children. I have been involved with caring for 3 beautiful children aged 4, 6 and 8 for the past 12 months. I picked up children from school, took them to their afternoon activities, prepared tea and most importantly played endless games. I think it’s very important to keep children active, playing outside whilst teaching them new sports. I have also spent a lot of time teaching how to bake cakes, cookies, and picklets, bread, loaves and much more! What I believe I contribute is my creativity. Arts, crafts and inventing are always such a hit with children. Ideally I would love a full time nanny job during the weekdays. I have what it takes to become a great role model for the next family I look after!

My name is Bridie and I am 22. I am currently in my 3rd year of study, studying Public Health & Health Promotion with a major in Nutrition. I am looking at continuing my studies next year and doing a diploma of education. I have had alot of experience looking after young children as a nanny. During high school I looked after 3 children after school doing jobs such as cooking, playing, bathing and a bit of tidying up. During my gap year I went and worked as a nanny in London for a year. I had sole charge of 3 children aged 18 months, 4 and 6. I am currently also working as a nanny for a family in Ashwood who have two boys aged 18 months and 5. I work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays afternoons, but I am looking for more work.
