Hello all! My name is Stephanie.
I have recently moved to Sydney from Melbourne in order to undertake a Masters in Speech Pathology at Sydney Uni. I have a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology from Melbourne Uni.
For the last 4.5 years, before leaving Melbourne, I have worked in a residential respite service for children with disabilities. My role involved both skill development as well as general play and recreation :).
Before commencing this work in 2007, I spent nearly 12 months employed as an Au Pair to a family in Germany. The children in my care were aged 4 months and 1.5 years when I began my time with the family.
In addition to these combined experiences I come from a large family and have been surrounded by children all my life. I greatly enjoy engaging with children of all ages and am very comfortable with the extra requirements and responsibilities involved with caring for a baby or neonate.
I currently hold a Level 2 First Aid certificate, for which I undertook a CPR refresher in Feb 2012. In order to undertake clinical placements for my degree I am required to ensure that all of my vaccinations are up to date, as well as obtain a NSW police and working with children's check. I have taken care of the vaccinations (and so am not to be scared off by the chicken pox!), however my Police and WWCC are still in progress. I am able to provide a WWCC and police check from Victoria if required.

I love children! My sister has 16 month old twins and I have had plenty of experience looking after them! The best part of my week is going to see them! I have also done a lot of other babysitting work with 16 month old babies.

I currently babysit an 8 year old girl and a 6 year old boy after school and take them to their school activities on monday and tuesday afternoons.

I think that working with children is extremely rewarding and so important.
