My child care experience started at Banhinlaadwangtor School; children aged 3-12 years old. In the morning, I welcomed them to school and talked with them about life and sang songs before teaching. The children loved songs and games. I taught them about Thai, Math, Culture and English by using cartoons, songs, conversations, colors, A-Z, numbers and pets. I had lunch with them in the canteen. In the afternoon I taught them again and had relaxing time. Students had many activities such as drawing, painting and playing sports and games, then they went home.

Next, I worked at Nongkrungnoi and Dangyai School, the children were aged 3-12 years old. In the morning, I talked and shared opinions with them then taught Thai culture and morals and gave good advice about their study. I also taught Basic English such as A-Z, conversation, name of days, months and years, colors, counts and songs. In the afternoon I played games and sports with them, drew, painted and took good care of them until it was time to go home.

Next, I worked at Noomsaotour Company with children aged 4 months-3 years as a trainee in Inbound department. I had opportunity to take care of children from many countries because their parents came for an international conference in Thailand. I collected children from their parents in the morning then prepared and fed milk, carried them, played and put them to bed. In the afternoon I took them back to their parents.

Next, I took care of a 1 year old daughter of my mother’s friend; her name is “Fern”. Her parents were very kind. I always respect and love them. Since in the morning; I prepared a baby’s bottle, fed, bathed, dressed, changed nappy, carried, played and put her to bed.

Next, I worked at Sucher kindergarten school with children aged 3-months to 2 years. In the morning I prepared baby’s bottle and played toys with them. Sometimes, I taught them drawing and painting, they loved it very much. Then I fed them milk and food and put them to sleep. In the afternoon, I bathed them, dressing, changing nappy, carrying, playing games and toys all indoor and outdoor. Everyday I cared for many children and learned about their behavior and needs, emotions, food and toys. I also learnt First Aid, accident-injury prevention, child developmental in psychology and activities too.
Next, I was an Au Pair in USA., stayed with American host family for 1 year. I took care of 2 babies. Albert, a 2 year old boy and Dries, a new born baby boy. During the day, I needed to arrange my time to take care them and made them happy. In the morning, I prepared their breakfast and milk, got them ready from their cot, changed nappy and dressed them, carried them, fed them food, played with them. In the afternoon, I took them to many places such as the park, the library, the playground, the book store, the shopping center, the baby school etc. I put them for a nap, I cleaned the toys and the house, prepared their meal. After they woke up, I read them stories, sang and danced, took gave them a bath. I love them so much like my babies.

I would like to be the babysitter because I love children and want to take good care of them. I’m very happy when I live with children. I also want to exchange culture and traditions, improve English skills, travel and gain new experience. After finish this program, I want to be a good English teacher. Hi, my name is Steph, I am 23 years old, and am from Bristol, England. I have been travelling and working in Australia for the past 6 months, and am here on a working holiday visa. I have lots of experience working with children/youths from the age of 2 to 16. I have worked as a babysitter for two young boys aged 2 and 4, as well as an 8 year old girl and 11 year old boy. In 2004, I also worked as a voluntary assistant playworker at an activity centre for children with Autism. Here, I organised and led activities such as art and crafts and softplay. In 2007, I spent a summer working at a camp in America. As a camp counsellor, I worked as part of a team to ensure that the children had a positive camp experience. I led groups of children in a range of activities such as boating, archery, outdoor cooking and swimming. After camp finished, I worked at a family holiday resort in Vermont, maintaining a similar role. Here, I took the opportunity to babysit children on an evening. From 2009 to 2011, I worked as a voluntary mentor within the local Youth Offending Team. Working with a young person on a weekly basis, my aim was to provide support in order to develop the independence and confidence of the individual. We pursued different activities such as golf, tennis and badminton, as well as homework help if required. My parents are foster carers for the Local Authority and have had several placements. The latest placement involves two young girls who have been part of our family for over two years now. At present, they are 3 and 5. Having the children live with us has meant a lot of involvement in their daily lives, such as cooking, reading, taking them to softplay and swimming lessons. All of these previous childcare roles have required a CRB police check.
