Looking for: Part-time, Casual Babysitting
For the past six years, I've babysat for six families regularly - for children aged 8 months to 13 years. I also worked in an after-school care facility for a year (Balmain East After-School Care - Nicholson Street Public School). I'm primarily interested in casual babysitting. My days and hours are very flexible. I'm an English major with a passion for literature, so would love to read with your kids and am happy to help with homework if needed.
Additionally, I volunteer as a tutor for the Raising Hope Foundation, so have experience teaching secondary school aged kids. I am a certified tutor with Tutoring for Excellence, so am also happy to be contacted with tutoring offers (although I charge an increased price).
Hope to hear from you soon!

I unfortunatey had to leave in October as I began a full-time position related to my uni degree. I am now working with a lovely family who have 3 girls under 4, but will have to leave as they are located in Sydney.I have a current first aid certificate, my licence, and a …

Hi, I'm Tanya, I'm 19 years old and currently studying at the Australian National University. The reason why I enjoy working with children is because I love hearing laughter and observing the creativity and imagination that children possess. I am a creative, energetic, loving, patient, orgranised and reliable person. I love to cook, bake, read and do anything that involves art. I also enjoy going outside if the opportunity ever presents itself. I have volunteered in various positions that have involved working with children, including the Thai Food and Cultural Festival at the Thai Embassy; and the Youth Volunteer Project for Learning Royal Initiatives, which included teaching English and part-taking in activities with the children. I do not have a car, but I am willing to bike, walk or use public transport. I am also very flexible with my time and would love the opportunity to work with children whilst studying at university and build a relationship with the family.

My name is Lily and I live locally in the Glen Iris Area. I have 5 younger cousins and love looking after kids! I have been babysitting for the past 5 years, starting from a couple of hours to long stays nowadays. The children that I've cared for range from 8 months to 8 years and older, and I'm comfortable with both newborns and toddlers. As I am studying at University I am preferably looking for flexible working hours and a steady job. However as my schedule fluctuates week to week I am relatively flexible. Evenings are also great for me, and I am flexible with rates based on number of kids or hours :) I pride myself on getting along really well with kids and leading an active and healthy lifestyle, I also speak fluent French and some Spanish.

Back home in Sydney I volunteered ( for 3 years) and worked casually for 2 years in a childcare centre which included a large chunk of full time work after finishing my HSC. I was offered to traineeship at this centre but chose to come to uni in Canberra instead! While there, I worked in both the 2-3 and 3-5 year old rooms so I have lots of experience teaching/looking after pre-school aged children.
I also have experience looking after children from 6 weeks of age. I am very confident in my ability to care for kids of all ages, including babies.
I love imaginative play, creative arts, reading, and exploring. I think it is important for kids to be able to enjoy nature, and therefore encourage as much outdoor (supervised, haha) play as possible. I also enjoy cooking, and find that most children love to get involved too. …

My personal philosophy:
I believe that each child is an individual who has different diversity, routines, beliefs, etc., and as an educator I will value and develop each child’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning through play, also providing the opportunities for children to explore, create an idea, discover, imagine and make choices in an environment.
I believe as an educator to assist the children be able express their own feeling to others, using their imagination to communicate with other children during play, explore their curiosity with the environment, learning self-help skills such as putting a shoelace, buttoning, dressing, responsible with the resources, putting the sock, hand washing, as children are unique.
I believe as an educator using responsive listening to understand and respect children’s learning. As an educator, I believe children are active learning through imitation and routine experience.

After having cared for children in such conditions, I feel fully equipped and prepared to care for just about any child. As a babysitter/mother's helper in previous years, my duties included preparing meals, supervising instrument practice and helping with homework, engaging children in indoor and outdoor activities, bath time and swimming supervision.

I have recently graduated college with a Year 12 certificate with my sights set on university next year. I believe that to be a caregiver (more specifically a babysitter) means that I can help others, which I classify as a priority in my life. I like working with others, more specifically one-on-one, because I like influencing positive change in other people’s lives. Working as a babysitter means that I have the potential to make a difference in someone’s life and do things that make him or her feel better. Being a babysitter does place emphasis on the child/ren but also to the parent/s or guardian where help is needed.
I have worked as a Nanny/Babysitter for 5+ years now, caring for children from newborn to 10 years of age. I was first drawn to babysitting as a casual job during university, but I soon realised I loved working with children and watching them grow into confident young people. I see myself as very hands on and active babysitter - I enjoy joining in on games, reading books, painting and arts/crafts, as well as taking them on excursions (swimming pools, parks, museums etc). I am planning on moving to the UK in approx 6 months, so I am unfortunately only looking for something short term (whether it be one month or the six months).
As a teenager I used to have the privilege of playing with my cousins and sometimes looking after them, and during the course of the last seven years I’ve been babysitting for a number of families. One of the first families that I worked for had three children but I mainly babysat two of their children; the 6 and 8 year old and sometimes their little brother who was 3 and I think that this has been a great experience (as well as babysit an adorable three year old for almost two years and a one year old for over a year). I like children because I think they make adults lives happier and I also think that you learn from children and they learn you. One of the things that I enjoy the most about children is their learning process for instance when they learn to talk or the questions that they make. I am looking for a part-time or casual job. I also have some cooking abilities that might help and if parents what I could help their children with their homework.
I am an 18 year old female, I have 12 nieces and nephews with 1 more on the way. I have been babysitting since the age of 11 and still do regularly. Do not let my age put you off as shown above I have seven years of experience, I also want to be a Primary School teacher for Kindergarten as a lifetime career. I have my first aid and my working with vulnerable people check. I am comfortable working with any children of any age. References are available, contact me for further information.
