I come from a large and extended family so I am extremely comfortable with fitting in around a family household .
I have recently completed a degree in Photographic Design From Massey University in New Zealand.
I moved to Melbourne for a change of lifestyle with my Fiance Simon who is a carpenter.
I have had a large variety of experience looking after young children, in various babysiting and part time nanny positions over the last seven years, most have been part time positions which I have fitted around study and other work. Predominantly I have looked after children under six. But five years ago I had a job tutoring a nine year old homeschooled girl in her family home. This was an extremely rewarding position as well as a good challenge. I took her for class four mornings a week and spent the rest of the day as a housekeeper for the family.
My last job as a nanny was from February 2011 until March 2012. I lived and worked in a family home. This was a fantastic position which I enjoyed emensly and involved taking care of a three and a 5 year old three days per week. I developed an extremely close relationship with the family, so it was very hard to leave them when my partner and I decided to move to Melbourne.
I held this position at the same time as completing my final year of study.
I am a great communicator and negotiator with children when it comes to problems that need to be solved.
I enjoy creating environments to encourage imanginative and cretive play and foster good learning environments. I enjoy setting up activities for children and helping them to achieve thier goals, for example, learning to ride a bike, learning how to write thier name or growing a garden etc.
I like to keep busy while I work and I am great at taking initiative, if I see something that needs to be done, I will do it, you wont need to ask me to fold the washing.
I am a confident, warm and hard working person who genuinely enjoys taking care of children.
