Hi, my name is Claudia and I would love to pursue a part-time job taking care of young children. I have worked as a nanny/babysitter for roughly four years, visiting the family weekly and assisting the mum around the house on my own accord without pay, which shows my true interest for children. Whilst I mainly did unpaid care, I also babysat for the family on weekends. Ideally I am looking for one main family to care for, for a few days a week. I believe I have an outgoing and fun personality which intrigues children as most children I come across warm to me very quickly. I love children and would love to pursue a regular role working with them.

I am seeking a family who perhaps has no immediate family in Qld and is wanting to connect with me for support and assistance with caring for their children, household duties or other tasks. My 4 children are now living overseas or interstate with career lives of their own.

As a working mum over the years, I know exactly what it is like to juggle everything - and how much I wished that I had some additional help.

About me?......I trained as a teacher initially in home economics, (as well I did early childhood studies through to adult TAFE) but later moved into HR with additional part time study in psychology and business. My children were my 1st priority in making sure that they grew up happy, well adjusted and loved.

I am currently a student at QUT, studying a four year Bachelor of Primary Education. I love kids and have lots of babysitting experience from my own little sister, who is ten years younger than I am, as well as babysitting for other families. I have basic first aid training, as well as basic aquatic lifesaving training. I have a blue card (full police check). Apart from experience babysitting, I have participated in volunteer programs such as Sony Camp, where we offered respite for the parents of disable children. This program meant we had to look after the children on a 24 hour basis, providing entertainment, assistance in the bathroom and at meal times. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, getting to know the children and I would love the opportunity to babysit for other families. I also work with the ready readers program, assisting children in schools with reading.
