I am a mature mother of four boys. I was born and grew up in Townsville. In my early twenties I travelled to America and Europe. I spent two and a half years living in London. Before I married I was employed with the Tax Office, Social Security and the Family Court of Australia. For twenty years I worked in our small family business both part-time and full-time whilst caring for my children. My sons are aged 26, 24, 19 and 12. In our business I managed the accounts and administration side of an excavation business, mainly doing book work at home. I am current studying part-time on-line which I enjoy very much. During the last term of 2016, I was employed part-time by Fruition Tuition to assist teachers with tutoring children with learning difficulties. Hello! My name is Karlene
I'm extremely passionate about working with young children and infants. I've had experience working with children aged between 6 months and 5 years as my last job was at a childcare centre assistant educator. In this position I worked predominantly with toddlers (2-3yrs) and babies (6mnths-2yrs) but have also spent a lot of time with older children.
Coming from a large family as a middle child, I've been around young children all my life. I strongly believe in developing close relationships with both the children I work with and their families. I also strongly believe in advocating for the children in my care.
I am currently studying towards my Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education, and have completed my both my regular and childcare senior first aid courses (CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis included). I also hold a current Working With Children's Check.
Please contact me for more information, I look forward to hearing from you!

I am currently studying a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, which I hope to complete in 2017. I also hold current first aid qualifications and blue card.
