As a teenager I used to have the privilege of playing with my cousins and sometimes looking after them, and during the course of the last two years I’ve been babysitting two children 6 and 8 and sometimes their little brother who is 3 and I think that this has been a great experience (as well as working in a child care centre in last 2 months). I like children because I think they make adults lives happier and I also think that you learn from children and they learn you. One of the things that I enjoy the most about children is their learning process for instance when they learn to talk or the questions that they make. I am looking for a part-time or casual job. My name is Madeleine, I am a student at ACU studying a bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Teaching. I am currently half way through my second year.

I moved to Canberra to study Arts/Law at ANU but have withdrawn from my course to accept a scholarship to Yale in September. In the meantime I am looking for part time work. I have extensive experience working as a nanny in France, where I took care of young children for two different families on a full-time basis. The children were aged between two and fourteen years old.
My responsibilities included feeding, cooking, putting the children to bed, bathing, assisting with homework and generally taking care of the children. I have also taken care of my partner’s twin brothers, who are now just under 24 months old.
I am a qualified dietician in Mexico, however, to become recognised in Australia I will have to wait a couple of years. During this time I am looking to have a rewarding stable job. I have a spouse visa (which allows me to work without restrictions).
