Babysitters Ratings System Information for Parents

Babysitters and nannies can be rated online by parents, sharing valuable information via Find A Babysitter. Here are further details explaining the system:

Background:
Find A Babysitter has designed a ratings system to allow the Find A Babysitter community to share feedback with each other about baby sitters and nannies. Find A Babysitter believes in offering a fair and reasonable system that will serve all parents, nannies and babysitters on the site. Parents can post a rating (out of 4 stars) and make a specific comment about carers they have used. Babysitters and nannies are notified of the rating and are able to post a reply online. Parents are also able to remove a rating if they choose to.

Leaving a rating (parents):
To leave a rating, parents simply log on to the Find A Babysitter site by using their email and password. This will open their account page with a list of sitters they have sent messages to. Click on the sitter's name and this will open a profile. At the bottom of the profile is a "Rate Carer" link. Parents click this link and leave feedback. We ask that the feedback comments relate specifically to the babysitter's job performance.

Reply to a rating (babysitters):
Sitters will be notified by email that a rating has been left for them. To read the rating, sitters log onto their Find A Babysitter account using their email and password. Sitters go to the section titled "My Reviews" at the bottom of the account page. Click the 'edit response' button, then enter a reply. We ask that the reply responds directly to the comments made by the parent.

Removing a rating:
A rating can be removed by the parent who wrote it. To do so, parents log onto their account page, go to the "Ratings I've Given" section and click the "remove rating" icon next to the sitter's name. The entire rating and reply will be deleted.

Terms of Use:
The "Terms of Use" of Find A Babysitter state how the site is used by members. This covers the posting of ratings (by Parents) and replies (by Babysitters). Responsibility for what is posted online lies with each user. Every site member is personally responsible for any comments they post. As stated in the "Terms of Use" members must not post any information that is false, inaccurate or misleading, defamatory, libellous, threatening or intimidating. We retain the right to cancel the membership of any member who we believe has violated the "Terms of Use" of Find A Babysitter.

Find A Babysitter's role:
Find A Babysitter does not routinely intervene in the ratings system. Find A Babysitter does not take responsibility for the accuracy or quality of information that members post on the site. Find A Babysitter is not legally responsible for remarks made by members. However, as stated in our "Terms of Use", "Find A Babysitter reserves the right to edit, refuse to post, or remove any information or material it deems inappropriate". Find A Babysitter screens every comment posted and will remove any comments we believe are unacceptable. So we ask parents and sitters to use caution, good judgement and honesty when posting ratings or replies.

Dispute resolution:
As stated in our "Terms of Use" of Find A Babysitter, "in the event that You have a dispute with another Site Member you will need to personally negotiate the resolution of that dispute." Find A Babysitter does not take responsibility for mediating between parties who disagree with the ratings and replies. Find A Babysitter encourages all parties to contact each other directly to discuss and resolve any issues.

I found your service very useful and within three weeks of joining I was able to find a suitable (indeed absolutely wonderful) young woman to care for my children after school. I am certainly recommending your service to colleagues and friends, and will rejoin should the need ever arise again.
